On your iPAQ you select Beam file. It will look for infrared devices, and
then for Bluetooth devices. You can then tap the mobile phone when it
appears in the list and the iPAQ will try to send the file.

That did not work. all it did was keep looking for an infrared device to
sync to.

You have enabled Bluetooth before selecting Beam file ?
