AdHoc Wireless Network Dropout Issues

I have setup three computers for a friend in an ad-hoc wireless network,
sharing a DSL connection. To clarify, on computer is wired to the DSL modem,
and the connection is shared. All computers have been setup by me, so have
the same settings, and are all running XP Pro.
The issue I am having is one of the computers suddenly and randomly drops
off the network. Infact, it doesn't really drop off the network because I
can ping its IP address from another computer, however it won't access the
DSL network conection. This is despite the fact that nothing changes. One
minute it will work, the next it won't.
I'd love it if someone could help me with this as it is getting tiresome
driving over to his place to fix the problems every other day!!! TIA

You could try setting the fragmentation and RTS/CTS thresholds a bit lower,
that has considerably stabilised my connection. I set both of mine to 2304
in the router and PCMIA laptop card.
