Can you get any work done with that desktop?

Reply to BigMac

lol, the funny part is when i first built it, i actually caught myself in a trance from it about once a day :D :D

But now i am more used to it....but its still the best working surface i have ever seen.

Reply to pickxx

well if i had a computer this is what it would look like.

the background image is made by myself.

I like the background....how exactly did you make it?

Reply to pickxx

Nice, did you like Kraftwerk's comeback on Coldplay's X&Y?

Reply to Tom_Smart

Too much grey for me, but I like the artwork.

How did you get hold of Vista?!

Reply to Ned_Flanders

You make me feel bad.. I don't even use a background.. I have the little bouncing anime chick in a bikini in the lower left hand corner on my home computer. I always have CNN up so I don't even use a background either.

I'm boring like that.. I need to start looking for something.

Reply to Riser

I was in a computer lab in Redmond when this nerdy Bill guy left to visit the little boys room. I noticed he had left behind a DVD. Well he never wanted it or he would not have left it there. So it is mine now.[/pop a pussy]not a typo.

Reply to Tom_Smart

You remind me of someone...hmmm, who could it be [/sacrasm meter overload]

Reply to Ned_Flanders

all modeled in 3d then rendered, the errors (blotchiness) was faint, so in Photoshop i increased how blotchy it was by selecting a light grey by colour and filling it with the darker grey.

all done in Blender (free 3d software, hence the logo on the cup)

the screenshot is years old, don't remember if i like it or not. i think i have had the same desktop image for about 2 years LOL

i actually prefer desaturated backgrounds more, i prefer the interface (to be nice) but also not in your face. hence not using windows Blue theme.

since i do a lot of artwork, the less saturated the better.

Thats a sexy desktop you have there...

Reply to pickxx

how do you upload a picture like that in your post?

Reply to Rob423

See FAQ for Can I post Images? :|

Reply to Jake_Barnes

Go to imageshack and host a picture, and it will give you the url of that picture and you just slap it in. I used the direct link to the thumbnail would be larger.

This is what i used to have for my background....

Reply to pickxx

excellent it worked....... that's the new AIM beta so far it's working excelelnt. about time they changed the Uinterface.

Reply to Rob423

you got a picture up, but when its clicked it sends me to imageshack and doesn't let me see expanded view of your picture.

I dont use AIM...i use trillian. I like how i can use AIM, MSN, and yahoo all at once with it. I make it 40% visable so i can still see my background and its much more stable then AIM and NOF-ING ADS!

Yeah, yeah - I could clean it up a bit 8)

Reply to Ned_Flanders

You could clean it up a bit but it's not bad.

My mom hasmore icons on her desktop then her screan will show

I like to minimize how many icons i have just because i like to be able to see my desktop when i am not doing something....which ironically is almost never. but with all the stuff i have i am required to be organized to find anything.

Reply to pickxx

I got that pic from a torrent that contained ~600 National Geographic wallpapers.

Reply to Spitfire_x86

I just run the plain old windows desktop pictures , everyonce and awhile I'll put on on from our camera .

Reply to ironmike

this aim has no ads either or banners, i got the hack to shut them off... and trillian is good i used to use it, but i don't use msn or yahoo so it's kinda a waste for me.

Reply to Rob423

I use AIM mostly, but i have 1 friend who uses MSN because all his friends do, and another friend who uses Yahoo because all her friendsuse yahoo.

So its either convert them and all their friends, or just use trillian....

And i am always on the lookout for programs that i like.
Triallian, sysmetrix, winamp, UltraMon, Virtual Daemon, Gmail notifier, Window blinds, fraps, Konfabulator....I just like little programs that have quirky little funtions.

Who didn't know that?????

Reply to RCPilot

I'd show you mine but its the good ole' XP rolling green fields with a picture of my knob super-imposed over the top. Its enough to put any other users right off my pc. :(

Your's is snazzy though. I love that chick.

Reply to BomberBill

You expect us to believe that while you are sporting that particular avatar? Get real... i mean that as a figure of speech of course, not the transformation of silicon to body fat.

Reply to BigMac

Hey, Mac. Yes, your figure of speech is accurate. How the hell are ya?

Who said it was all butts these days? Mate, call me a peas and potato man, but I still love my BIG jugs. :o

Reply to BomberBill

I was going to vomit, but then I remembered that I used to have rotating cubs backgrounds...

=o)

That is exactly what i was thinking....lol

Reply to pickxx

LOL

I hate to post my desktop.... It's a gamers desktop & is lean to say the least!!!

Reply to RCPilot

Mine is usually pretty lean....I dont like icons on my desktop, this weekend i am reorganizing everything so i can only have 4 icons on my desktop.....I just need to move all my movies, music, and all that around and rebuild my playlists.

Reply to pickxx

I don't have any icons on my desktop..... 4 services in the tool trey & that's it... 8)

Reply to RCPilot

Yeah, thats WAY lean....

I like my program icons in the quicklaunch, and as few icons as possible.....but i guess i can't run it as lean as you.

Reply to pickxx

I suppose I don't have to run that lean, but that's how I started gaming... So it became a habit along the way.....
