I don't know when this first started happening, but whenever I try to play
streaming video in Internet Explorer, or any other browser, I get a
"Microsoft internet explorer has encountered an error and must close.... send
error report... don't send" message. Also, when playing mp3 files with
Windows Media Player(WMP) 10 and 9 causes a similar crash. I first thought
the problem was from WMP 10, but I uninstalled it and reinstalled WMP 9 which
had always worked fine for me. The only other thing I could think of that I
had changed on my computer recently was installing windows xp sp2. I've
searched for hours through Google, tech forums and the windows help but
haven't found any sort of solution.
