Choppy Games Help

[Stinkfinger]

First i have P4 1.7, 512 megs ram and Radeon 9800 pro256.
Red Faction 2 plays choppy as hell, almost unbearable on low detail but Far cry demo Plays very nice on high. Also Halo has no details whatsoecer. Looks like im playing 2d almost. AA and AF are turned off as well as Vsync. Crd is overclocked just a little, Any help please would be appreciated, than ks
