I have an ATI All-In-Wonder card - the ATI MMC does most of what I want but
it only does so for the ATI VCR format. I would like to be able to do the
same with MPEG and AVI's.

Things I don't think I can do with MPEG/AVI :
- Fast Forward/Reverse at multiple rates (1x, 2x, ...)
- Slow Motion
- Step frame-by-frame
- Capture stills while paused
- Zoom In
And, NO it does not have to be FREE.

Are there technical reason why MMC can't do these things or is it all about
DRM?

Thanks for any info.

PowerDVD (www.gocyberlink.com) and WinDVD (www.intervideo.com) do this - as
to why ATI's program doesn't, you'd have to ask them!

I have an ATI 9700 AIW Pro. It captures in any format I want. I can
capture in MPEG1, 2, and $. I can capture in DivX and XviD. I can capture
in .AVI. I can capture in .WMV. I guess you have not installed the software
properly for your card, or you have an older card.
