I have been trying to restore a folder from my XP Pro image file. The
partition that I imaged is NTFS. The resulting file was spanned over 4
dvd's. Now when I try and use Ghost Explorer,I sit here forever
swapping disks and get nowhere. Is there a way to copy the image files
to hd and go from there? I copied them to my hard drive but when I
tried to use explorer I get errors. Any suggestions??

Have you tried to verify the image?

What errors do you get?

When you copied the images from each DVD to your HDD did any of them seem to
stall or take longer than usual?

Could be one of the segments is corrupt and as sods law would have it, the
folder youre after is on the segment which isnt working.

My experience with ghost 2003, trying to run explorer, on CDs: get
ready for a nite of cd swapping. I don't know what version of ghost you
have, but I would not be surprised by your experience.

Also with ghost 2003, I was not able to copy HD ghost images onto a CD
have them recognized by ghost. I did not try copying cd images on the
hd. It sounds like it should work, but again, I'm not surprised if it
doesnt.

If you have no other way out, my suggestion is to buy a new hd (or make
a partition if you have the space) and do a restore and then pick what
you want (assuming the dvds verify).
