Windows 7 internet browser problems on wifi

Hello,
Seemingly unsolvable problem!
Can connect to internet on my laptop via modem at home, but not on wifi at home or other locations. Will connect to Skype. Any suggestions please

Try going to a command prompt and pinging 4.2.2.2 and see if you get a reply on the wifi. If this works from pinging www.google.com and see if you get a reply, this means DNS is working.

If it connects to skype from home on the wifi, its sounds like you have internet access, it may just be a problem with your browser (proxy setting maybe that is valid on the home network maybe?). Assuming you are using IE, goto tools and internet options, connections, LAN settings and make sureproxy settings are unchecked.
