Hello,

I'm trying to install a SAMSUNG 160GB 7200RPM 8MB OEM (HD-SS-SP1614N) as a
second HDD in my computer. The CMOS Setup Utility recognizes it as IDE
Primary Slave with the jumper in the second (slave) position or without the
jumper. My problem is that the MAP command does not see the drive. As a
result I can't partition and format it.

What am I doing wrong?

Andy

You've gotta partition and format it before you can use the MAP command.

You dont say what OS you are using, but in XP its in drive management.

You saved my bacon--again. I'm using Windows XP Prof. You keep this up, and
I'll soon be calling you Guru.

Many thanks.
