I installed the old HD.
I connected it just as the DVD drive was connected
using the IDE cable. I then plugged in the power.
When I booted it up, I could not go into windows.
Instead I got the screen with the normal and
safe mode selections. When I attempted to run
normal, I was taken back to that screen. Then
I tried Safe mode, same thing.

Thanks,
Larry

See what the drive type is set to in the bios. It should be AUTO.
