When attaching my miniDV panasonic via firewire, the computer does not seem
to be able to keep the connection causing all sorts of problems trying to
capture the video regardless of what editing program I am using. It is a
fireware card attached via a standard cable. Any ideas. Thanks

kkingster,
Sounds like we are having similar problems. I recently bought an IEEE 1394A
card, upgraded from Windows ME to Win XP, and increased our RD-RAM. I plugged
the firewire (from port 1) into our Panasonic miniDV videocamera and tried to
capture from video device. I get the following message 'Video capture device
was not detected. Verify that it is on and connected.' The help tutorial
talks of selecting and choosing different drivers, but can't find this.
Any help would be appreciated.
