This may fall under the stutter problem that a number of folks seem to
be expereincing but I haven't seen it described in the particular way.

I'm running HL2 on a Pentium 2.3 with 2gb ram and an ati 9550 card.

Several times I expereince a problem when walking or running. I will
slam into an invisible wall, whci I can not go around or jump over.
However, if I back up a few steps and then go forward, I go on past.

Also if I stop for a few seconds, sending no keystrokes to the game, I
can then go forward without backing up.

So, It appears to be a problem with the keyboard buffer size or
process. I have no sound stutters or video stutters - Just the
invisble wall.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like a keyboard issue rather than something with the Source
engine. Experiencing any weird control issues with other games or simply
in Windows? Check your Accessibility control panel options to make sure
nothing has turned on unexpectantly.

Well, it looks like it was a keyboard issue. I went out and bought a
new keyboard and it sems to have solved the problem.

Strange - I wasn't having any other problems with the keyboard but it
was a few years old.

Thanks for the suggestion - It got me thinking away from the
stuttering issue...
