Hi,
I use windows movie maker version 2.1 in XP operating
system pc.
When I tried to import a video file I get the error
message mentioned in the subject line above.

Any ideas or help to get rid of this error highly
apprecicated.

You need a program that will index your video

Try videofixer at:

http://www.fixvideo.com/
