im trying to figure out how i can get video from my hi-8 video camera onto my
laptop. All the plugs i have on the camera are av out and s-video.

anythin might help

Your best bet is to get an analogue to digital convertor. Cheap ones from
pjnnacle like the dazzle can sometimes be problematic, better quality -
£more - like those from canopus generally ruin without difficulty. The main
problem can be in video/audio sync.
