Yeesss, probably true.... But I made the switch back when IE6 was the awful reality of my daily browsing, and haven't looked back since. The ONLY reason for me to hang on to IE8 would be its out-of-the-box integration with Windows 7 and Aero, but Firefox 3.6 takes care of that. On XP, there's no contest. Firefox by a country mile.
Never really had an issue with IE; despite its reputation. I definately don't recall IE6 being bad at all. With IE 8, some pages don't display quite the way they should... for instance when you log in on this forum site, the button text is all screwed up.
