I was 17 and she was 15 and she was hot and I was super-fit and she put on 'Better Man' which she loved and we made love and I was a King for a night. Reember your teenage years. I loved those years with a passion. I was a lay Buddhist, fit and optimisitc. All thats gone but I want it back.
Remember those years with a certain sense of relish, D, because they're gone, my friend, and our 20s are almost too which is nigh tragic.
Fock it, you have to make it happen. There's no other way.
I met Kirt Cobain once, after he'd done a show near to my town. They were third on the bill. Mudhoney headlined (now there's a band!), Tad second then Nirvana.
Soundgarden were awesome too. Loved their stuff, and probably called it quits at about the right time.
Check out a band called Fugazi, make some awesome music, and are just about the most principalled band in music. The most anit-corporate band you'll find. Fcuking great band.
Nirvana and Pearl Jam rocks. I still dig Nirvana as it ranks #1 on my favorite grunge band list, and back in the early 90's, Pearl Jam was one of my favorites... seen em concert once.
But am not so fond of PJ now, but Nirvana rocked me when I first heard them and only grew as time ticked on...
Being a Chicago boy, I was quite partial to the Pumpkins... I have 200+ songs on my work PC by the three named bands above, and 178 of them are by the Pumpkins... I think I have every song by SP on here... A friend of mine gave me two MP3 disks... One of every studio album (which I already had) and one of unreleased songs... Very cool... Some bootlegs, some demos, some live songs to fill it up...
Excellent band... One of my favorite quotes was by a music critic... Was doing the review for Pisces Iscariot, the Pumpkins B side album... Said their B sides were better than most bands A list material...
