I am trying to capture video using a USB connection.
The "Digital device format (DV-AVI)" option is greyed out.
Is this because this option requires a Firewire connection ?
I do not have a Firewire connection. I understand that I would have to add a
card to do that. Do you have a good recommendation ?

you cannot capture video through a standard usb connection, you must install
a IEEE 1394 to capture video through. I just recently went through this
myself. You can only capture still picutes through a standard usb cable.
