Eclipse is a third-person total conversion of Valve's Half Life 2 . You
play as a young Sorceress named Violet whose father went missing five
years back. After learning the secrets of Telekinesis, you are
teleported into Auld-Haven, a lush and fertile land where Violet grew
up. Your objective is to return to Violet's home where she last saw her
father years ago and dig up any clues to his whereabouts. In the broken
down tower of her home you discover a journal left by her father. The
journal unlocks a handful of secrets that ultimately leads you on a
quest to find the ancient teleportation device - the Standing Stones.

That is so NOT my type of game (as the daughters say). Maybe that's why the
video left me completely cold.

Left me dizzy. 3rd person player movement had the pronounced effect that
land was swirling around me rather than I was turning in place. Left me
dizzy and I had to quit. Was still getting the hang of telekinesis when it
got to me. Learned how to raise objects off the ground but they just ended
up spinning in the air. Wasn't able to figure out how to manipulate them by
the time the dizzyness got to be too much.

I liked the add on to original half life where you played barney- can't
remember the name.

I also played counterstrike which i believe is the add on where you play a
marine. CAn't wait for more of the same in hl2.

Blue Shift.

Counter-Strike is terrorists against counter-terrorists. There is an add on
in which you play the Marine though, that'll be Opposing Force.
HTH.

It's working for me now. I disabled the map background, it will seize
up my computer if I make any changes to the video settings. Just
completely locks up when I hit apply.
