Since squaresoft is remaking FF7 with newer graphics and some minor story line tweak shouldn't it come out for PC. Well Edios pubished the orginal FF7 so why not the remake of FF7. I won't buy PS2 and there is no good EMU for PS2.
They are? Hmmmm...
It took me 8 months of 'messing' around with that game before I could appreciate it. Looking back at the Nes and Snes, and what I've seen/heard of FF8-10, I'm thinking it was the best one.
Yuck. Why would anyone want a remake of FF7? That game was a joke in so many ways. If they want to remake FF7 they should be changing the magic system to get rid of Materia and give individuals specific spells/abilities. Or something. Anything but Materia. (Well, anything but Materia or GFs.)
Besides, the game was WAY too easy. If it weren't for the addition of Ruby and Emerald weapon into the American version, every single boss fight in that game would have been a joke, Sephiroth most of all.
Better graphics won't help a bad game because it'll still be a bad game.
Make electricity write in the dirt, it’s magic. Make it write on your monitor, it’s science.
FF7 was a decent at best. And that is being nice. The old Snes games were much better. FF7-8 were dissapointments. FF9 was a much better game than the last two. My fav FF is still FF3 on the SNES.
Hell yeah! That's exactly my thought too. Well, except that my absolute favorite FF game of all is FF1. Heck, I've even played some of the Japanese FFs that America never got. (Though I did this through an emulator and ROMS with an English translation.) And it really comes down to the only FF games (other than possibly the GameBoy games since I've never played them yet) that ever really disappointed me were FF7 and 8.
I REALLY hope that FF9 was a sign that Square-EA has gotten back on track and that FF10 will be a good game too.
I'd really like to see FF cross with Breath of Fire though. There's another RPG that has kicked much butt.

You can download old FF Roms for SNES and NES emulators for your PC. Many old RPG's that never made it to the US have been translated! I finally got to play the sequal to The Secret of Mana, which was another one of my favorite games.
I know. I've been collecting a lot of my old favorites that way so that I don't have to do things like hook my Nomad up to my TV to play my old Genesis games. I got that game too, but I can't remember what it's name is. I was playing it for a while, but got side tracked from it. I shall have to get it going again.
I'll also have to find a good ROM of Telengard for the C=64. I miss that game.

Emulation rules. I think half of my old Nes/Snes/Apple2/C64 games play better on my Athlon than they did on the console. And it's nice to be able to cheat like crazy without having to flip the switch on the gameshark or reboot to put in the hex editor floppy.
Because two people might argue about how much FF3 sucked or not, and they're talking about two different games. I just wanted to make sure people knew that.

Actually, there are a few games (such as Gauntlet 4 for the Genesis) that I've had some real problems getting an emulator (any emulator) to run flawlessly. I think the real thing is better than an emulator. However, since I don't feel like hooking up all of my old consoles, and since emulators allow you to save states and such, I'll still prefer them most of the time. Heh heh.

Yeah, I'll agree with that. Especially with black squares in the graphics and stuff like that.
The pros are that it runs faster and (like was pointed out) you can save at any time, change cheats and other settings without walking all the way over to the TV and turning it off
