Creating Movies on DVD

At this point I've only made movies with the Windows Media player format. I'm
considering purchasing a DVD burner soon. Is there a way to convert existing
movies into the DVD format, or simply taking wht I've created and burn it to
DVD so I can show it on TV?

I'm also curious as to which software is most commonly used for making
movies on DVD. From what I understand MovieMaker doesn't offer this
capability. Thanks!!

Your burner will probably come with the required software...... There are
many third party applications which do this from Nero to Roxio, WinDVD
Creator and PowerDirector or PowerProducer.

Thanks for the info! Am I able to take my existing completed movies and turn
convert them to a format for my DVD's, or do I need to start from scratch?

If you've saved them in DV-AVI format any of the DVD creating applications
will be able to import them. If you've saved them as WMV file, you may find
your choice is more limited.
