There's the freeware RAD Video Tools from

And also trialware EO Video from http://www.eo-video.com/ (site seems to be
down presently!)

RAD Video Tools (http://www.radgametools.com) are free. Mov2Avi,
http://www.divx-digest.com/software/mov2avi.html, as well. EO Video is
superb at that, but not free.

That depends on your AVI codec of choice. Huffyuv would be lossless.
DivX, would not.
