Ulead VideoStudio 8 opinions

Hi everyone,
I am looking for a simple yet robust NLE software that includes DVD
authoring.
I've tried premiere - after few days I gave up. It is too complicated for
me.
Everybody says Pinnacle Studio 8 and 9 are so buggy that it doesn't worth
the time (not mention the money)
There's also Ulead for $100. They just released version 8.
I don't mind if it has less features (though it doesn't seem like it).
What I do mind is if it's stable.
In other words: can I make a one to one and a half hours project and
successfully burn to DVD ?
I have a powerful computer.
Thanks
Amitai

I haven't used Ulead 8. Ulead 7 was my choice for picture slide shows and
footage shot from a single camera, although I always felt the quality of the
transitions left a lot to be desired. As soon as I moved to multi-camera
footage, Ulead was not a good option for me. It was too difficult to sync
the audio/video across multiple files. I agree that Premiere can be
intimidating, but if you can stick with it for a couple of weeks, you might
find that you absorb more than you realize. Check out
http://www.wrigleyvideo.com/ for some amazing, free Premiere tutorials.

The dividing line for me is the number of video sources you're using. If
only one, Ulead will probably be easier/faster and definitely cheaper.
Having said that, I'm now working with Premiere, exclusively.

I think Ulead is a good choice or if you've got a few extra dollars, Vegas
Video 5 is the best choice. I actually prefer Vegas over Premiere.
