I can't remember this question being asked in this news group so I'm
hoping for some replies.

Which method is likely to give the better quality picture?

1. rending at high quality and saving to the hard drive as a DVD Vob
type files that are larger than 4.7 megs then having dvdshrink create
a 4.7meg image (by compressing the video) that can be written to a DVD
disk.

2. Rending the mpeg video at a lower quality so that a video will fit
on a DVD disk

It's probably debatable since someone who's an expert at it can probably
make better mpegs by bypassing DVD-Shrink.

But for casual "shrinking 3 TV shows to fit on one disc" kind of thing, I
find DVD-Shrink to be fine, and much faster.
