Getting WMM to make a dvd

I have been trying to get my w movie maker to cut a cd/dvd
that a dvd will play. not having any luck. any help?

Windows Movie Maker has no DVD burning ability. Save the edited file as a
DV-AVI file then use third party software to create and burn the DVD.

and the cd making ability is limited to HiMat format which only pc's play.
