I was just wandering?:

for hyperthreading to be enabled with p4 processors does dual channel ram
need to be installed?

is it possible to just go out and buy two pieces of ram not intended for
dual use and then put them in a dual configuration or does this not work? do
you have to buy dual specific ram?

Many thanks

Hyperthreading and dual-channel ram are principally two different
things, so would normally work independant of each other.

It appears to be a bit critical the use of this kind of high
performance ram, many manufacturers of motherboards recommend certain
modules which should work. It is however not absolutely necessary to
use paired modules; it maybe worth the try much cheaper ones.
