I had a badly scratched dvd which would not copy because of the scratch.

I used dvd decripter to make a copy. When it got to the scratch it gave
a failed notice but you can ignore the problem. It will return several
notifications until it gives a window to ignore all errors.

It took almost six hours and about 500+ read errors but finally copied
the dvd. A nice program for doing something it was not designed for,
fixing scratches.
