Unfortunately you are right. OEMs, in this case HP, push user to buy new PPCs by not given tech support neither selling or distributing updates or patches for old devices.

I have a ipaq h3135 that can be upgraded to pocket pc 2002. except
compaq stopped selling it (only costst $30). I can't upgrade to pocket pc
2003 since h3100 has been abandoned. I can't even find a h3100 rom on
limewire (plenty of h3600's though).
Does anyone here have the Pocket PC 2002 installer for the h31xx ? Don't
flame me about pirating. I just tried to buy it and you can't anymore.
If you can someone please, direct me to where (ebay for software is
just as bad as pirating )

I'm trying to upgrade to 2002 .. can't upgrade to 2003.
