I just dug out my Canon PowerShot S200 Digital ELPH, and find that the
battery doesn't last long and I need a replacement (I think I left it
charging for months at one point--a no-no according to the manual). It has
the Canon battery pack NB-1LH. I've found a generic for it at
<http://www.pricegrabber.com/user_sales_getprod.php?masterid=1889911
&lot_id=1996> , but am wondering if a generic is really safe.

Here's a non-wrapping link to the generic battery.

I shop for MAH ratings only. Name means nothing to me, unless I
hear of a specific fraud. To check for that, just do a google on the
name of the battery.
Consumer reports reviewed store brand batteries and compared them
against DURACELLS and ENERGIZER brands and found essentially no
difference - except the store brands (walgreen etc) were half the
price.

Well, as the page (<http://tinyurl.com/5wd69> )
says, the batteries are by DigPro. Any problem with these?

I don't get any hits, so I would trust that the batteries are fine
and will work better if you treat them better.

I've never had any problems with Assia batteries from homenext (it's both an
ebay seller name and a website - homenext.com)
