Problem with Windows video maker 2.0

I recently try out the windows video maker 2.0. I had encountor one problem.
When i preview a avi clip, it can be shown on the preview screen. Once i
preview the time line, i see nothing but there's sound and the time line is
going on. And when i wanted to create the titles and credits, I too cannot
see the preview screen. Please help me out here.. Thank You..

What type of avi file is this? MM works well with dv-avi but not compressed
ones like divx.
