Hi all,
I have 2 sony video cameras of the same model (DCR-TRV22E) and would like to
connect them both to the same microphone. The camera obviously has a mic
input but I dont know what equipment i would need to do this. Id like to buy
a good qulity mic that cuts out the wind that connects to both cameras
running at the same time at different angles. If anyone could give me advice
in what i need to buy that would be great.

Get a cheap mixer (even <$50) and have it feed both camcorders.
The controls on the mixer (like EQ and low-cut) will further add
to your ability to cut wind and other environmental noise.

Thanks for the reply. If you could point me towards a link to any kind of
mixer i could use, that would be great. I realy have no idea what to do a
search on. Thanks

Even something like the Behringer Eurorack UB502 (one mic input)
or MX602 or UB 802 (they have 2 mic inputs). But did you say
whether you have mains power available, or are running on batteries
in the field?

Mostly running on mains power but every now and then on batteries.

The little Behringer mixer MX802A is a nice little box. It's essentially a
clone of the little Mackie that looks the same (I forget the model number).
Cheap. Probably not as durable as the Mackie, and Behringer's tech support
ain't much to sing about, but at that price, the thing is virtually
disposable anyway. It should do the trick for ya.

You may have your reasons to feed the same sound source to both cameras, but
I would just plug the mike to one of them and use it as the master in
post-processing. Makes life simpler.
