Pinnacle Studio 7 harddisc problems

Hi!

I installed Pinnacle Studio 7.0 on a WINDOWS XP Home machine, a DC10Plus
card
is also installed in the system, I installed the driver-patch for it too.
when I try to record video from an external camera,
which is connected to the DC10Plus, I always get the message that the data
transfer to/from the harddisc
is too slow, just 6000 kB/sec and 8474 kB/sec is needed for good quality.

The hard disc is a pretty new one with an 8 MB chache and I somehow cant
belive that this should be the problem ?!
I also used the latest VIATech PCI/IDE drivers, turned off the AntiVirus
program but still wasnt lucky,
the value always stays the same, 6000 kB/Sec.

any help on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated,
thanx in advance!

best regards,
Hans

One problem can cause this on even new and fast machines and hard
drives is the the DMA is not turned on for that paticular hard drive.

Hi!

I looked at the properties of the IDE-controller within the XP
hardware-configuration and it showed me that UDMA is used.

I checked the settinsg for the IDE-controller the harddisc is connected to
and it showed me, that UDMA is enabled.

I may be that version 7 is just not willing to run. Have you tried
the trial version of 9.
