New guy strikes again.

Is it possible that of all the sales people I asked so many questions none
of them could say "actually there is no way to pug firewire into this
camera."

I have USB, MagicWire and A/V in out/headphone jacks. That seems to be it.

I now see that the manual make no mention of IEEE1394A and while it does go
to great lengths about what to do with your photos, I see nothing about
getting what has been filmed onto a hd.

Does anyone know what, besides a clue, I am missing?

Did he ever.

They didn't say it because there is one. I found it.

I will say, as a most feeble defence, that it is very cleverly hidden.

no, also DV and Svideo, as mentioned, cleverly hidden.

Just refers to it as DV terminal, and only once as far as I can see.

If you're still reading, it probably means you were willing to help. Thank
you. I think I'm back on track for now.

Please don't answer that one...

Why not?

If I read your post correctly, you are missing capture software,
which is often part of an editing package, and can also be obtained
separately.

Have you looked at http://www.videohelp.com ? It can help :-)

The best way to find an answer to a question is to ask it. That usually
guarantees you'll figure it out yourself almost instantly.

I believe it works on the same principle as lighting a cigarette to force a
bus to arrive at the bus stop.

Anyway, that's what life is, just one learning
experience after another, and when you're through
with all the learning experiences you graduate and
what you get for a diploma is, you die.
