I have been asked to stream a live broadcast from one location to three
others over the Internet. The kicker is that I have a $0 budget to make
this work. As far as the systems receiving the broadcast, that's not a
problem. I'm thinking about the system for broadcasting.
Can I use a machine with just XP to do the broadcast. Working with Media
Encoder 9, it looks like it wants me to have a Media Server. Can I get it
to just work without a server? If not, can I set up NT 4.0 Server as a
media server? The only copy of Server 2003 available to me is a trial, and
I'm worried I'd be pushing the spirit of the law since I don't plan to buy
it.

Windows server 2003 is available in "trial" cds or as a download. The 30 or 60
day trial lets you run any option that is available with it,you'd not be
violating
anything as far as microsoft is concerned, thats what server 2003 is suppose
to do...
