Before I take the time to download and install
this driver software, has anyone tried it with
HL2 and does it cause problems like that last
set of Nvidia drivers (77.72) did?

What problems? I did have a "memory at location nnnnnnnnn could not be
read" playing HL2DM quite a few times. Was a different address each
time. Other than that, I had no problems with HL2 and 77.72, 77.75,
77.76 and now no problems with 77.77 and HL2. The single player game
never gave me that memory crash, only the multiplayer game. And not
with every server.

My problem was the "failed to set video mode" error
which crashed the game at startup. I had to roll back
to a previous set of drivers.

I read a guy at the nVnews.net forums who said these, the 77.77s,
drivers fix the above problem. I haven't been playing HL2 enough to
have noticed this issue though.

They do fix the overlay color problem I was having. These also seem to
play a little speedier too :)

The 77.72 drivers blow chunks. Totally screwed over the HL2 with not
even beable to run it in full-screen mode.
Rolled back to 71.79 (i think) and it's working now. Waiting for a
better 77.xx series to work.

Not having any probs with 77.77 set and P4 3ghz, 6800GT in SP mode, but
ALWAYS have crashes in HL2 MP (deathmatch)
