Hp dvd840e software windows 7 compatible

Hello,
I have a toshiba PC without cd capability and resurrected an HP dvd840e....No software to be found and cannot find a software solution for my windows 7 operating system.

Unfortunately, this product doesn't come up the Windows 7 Compatiblity Test: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx

Although HP's site does state that it works with XP and 2000 or later, though it doesn't state specifically that "later" includes Windows 7. But this is based on what I could find out, though you might want to email HP and see if there's a driver that is available. That might work out for you.
