Batteries recommend

Just bought the missus a digital camera - the first time we've had one.
However, as you're aware, battery life is a problem. What's the
recommended way to go, presumably some sort of rechargeable type.

Any tips most appreciated.

Check the manual. Most digicams work best with rechargable NiMH batteries.

To preserve battery life, I avoid using the lcd on the camera. I
can get as many as 10 times as many pictures on a battery charge.

Try 7dayshop for rechargables. Always found then resonable.

Yes, rechargeables is the way to go.
I assume it's using AA... I've heard positive thing about Uniross AA
2300mAh rechargeables and charger (but it's also expensive)..
Generally, don't buy anything below 2000mAm..

Remember to check that you digicam supports rechargeables..
