Is there any groups to discuss the cars? I love them, but I can't
find any groups.

Hehehe, very clever... yeah, quite nice cars, although I've been brought up to look slightly
askance at them as my dad has always been into cars that look that old but also are actually that
old. He has a 1933 Riley Monaco you see...

A Toronado? What's that, like 400 hp with a frikkin 3 speed automatic?
What a plodder.
Hell, my VW beats that- 550 hp, 18 cylinders made by combining 3
6-cylinder motors, 4 wheel drive, 380km/hr top speed...

What about a Ford A

I have always been into Morgans as each car is handcrafted individually

Never said they were race cars... though they did win the Pike's Peak

And your VW wouldn't survive a run in with a sparrow :)

Sweet, but I'd still take the 68 Toro.

I especially liked some of the later models that were a little bigger. You
felt like you had something around you when you drove those.

I know it's a car, I drove one for years... hard to beat the wet/snowy
weather traction of several hundred pound of engine sitting directly
above the drive wheels and it had the neatest speedo ever....

I'll be honest. I'm jealous as hell but I can't afford beast like
that. Next to that, currently petrol in The Netherlands is about $1.40
a liter, you calculate.
I'm trying to scrape some cash together to get a new car to replace my
scrappy broken Cit. (I'll post pic's when I get to it)
Talking about cit's and speedo's.

Oh tell me about it. The only reason I don't cry myself to sleep at
night over the loss of my Toronado (a tragic tale in itself) is knowing
it got something like 8 - 10 MPG and gas is closing in on $3 a gallon
here...

It looks like a pregnant Mustang with a Dodge Ram grill stuffed into the

(350HP?! There's V6's that generate that!)...
Color me unimpressed.

alt.config is the newsgroup-request-newsgroup :-) (ie, the place you
post to when you want to create a new newsgroup)

Let's not get technical here, there's no real "engineers" around, despite
indications to the contrary.

It is pretty cool, and this being Florida there's a shitload of things
to do in the time between dawn on the east coast and sunset on the west.
And they're all in almost a straight line. Grab breakfast and watch the
sunrise right outside of Cape Canaveral do the space tour thing, drive
almost due west and stop off at Disney, Sea World, MGM, the water parks
or any of the billions of touristy things in Orlando, have lunch, drive
due west again and hit Busch Gardens, watch the sunset, grab dinner and
then crash in a motel or just drive the two hours back to the east
coast... Best done in the LATE fall when it's cooler and most of the
tourists have gone home (and the parks/attractions are offering resident
discounts).

That's always seemed on the maybe interesting list to me. There was a
short-lived, one season I think, tv show about a family--all the kids
were adoptees--living/working on a Busch-like thingum.

It's an interesting park, an eclectic collection of attractions from a
brewery tour and beer tasting, safari ride, REALLY goddamn big horses,
a _great_ collection of roller coasters and one HUGE flume ride. Oh, and
I don't know if they still have it, their site doesn't list everything
there, but they also had one of those county fair type swinging boat
rides that actually did a couple 360 swings..
