Just a short while ago, I ran out of papers for the printer and I had
considered not buying any more refills. When I originally bought the
printer dock, there wasn't any cheap or convenient way to print a
photoquality prints and those for inkjet usually have borders.
But now, almost every major store has a kiosk that can print photo and
they generally charge less than $0.30 per print, less on larger order.
2 local stores are also open 24/7.
With Kodiak printerdock, refill is about $25 for 40 and $45 for 80 and
that amounts to more than $0.50 per print.
There are only 2 good reason for the printer dock: take it anywhere
when you travel and you have no way of knowing if there are any
digital photo kiosk where you're headed or for printing photos you
don't want the public to see. Although I do travel a lot, I rarely
need to print the photo so soon and all of the pictures I've taken
have been G rated so public is not an issue for me.
I pretty much no longer have a reason to use the dock. A $20 carger
can handle rechargeable batteries and I already have a memory card
reader for my PC. I do have the manual and software but it has been
packed away somewhere during my last move.
