Is there anyone sucessfully connecting to their camera over firewire
on an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard? I have not been able to get
WinXP to detect my camera since upgrading. I have tried both the
onboard 1394 connector and a separate PCI 1394 card and although both
show to be working correctly in the device manager, neither will
autodetect my camera when I connect the cable and turn the camera on.
As such, Premiere is not able to capture from the camera since it
appears to be offline. I have verified BIOS settings, tried a new
cable, tried different cameras, upgraded BIOS and cleared CMOS, tried
a clean install of WinXP with no updates. I am truly at a loss. Any
ideas?
System:
Athlon XP 2500+ (no overclocking)
ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe MB
1G Samsung RAM
ATI Radeon 9600XT All-In-Wonder video card
Windows XP SP1 with all current updates

I Just installed the ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe today and was able to use my
JVC DV deck as an output device through Media Studio Pro, I have not
yet captured but it seems to be recognized. Try turning the camera on
and off a few times while connected maybe? Any other firewire devices
you can use to test?
