What would you say the main reason would be for this?
The internet connection? I am using what they call here in Canada High
Speed -DSL
I didn't always experience this, it's been since a month ago or so. Just as
I am playing all of a sudden I can't move, only rotate, and watch how I'm
being killed. It last only like 4 seconds, but as you know 4 seconds is very
long while you are in the middle of a fight. Of course by the time I am back
into action, I am already dead.
I notice also that the image of many weapons are flashed on a vertical
column to the right of the screen, along with an underwater bubble sound, as
if recovering from a lost of data.
Is anyone else experiencing this too?
My specs are as follow:
AMD Athlon XP 1800 (1.5GHz), 1Gb ram, ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 128ram

This usually happens whenever you're experiencing obscenely high
packetloss and/or corrupt packets. open the console and type net_graph
1 and check the graph whenever this happens.
Is there anything else sharing bandwidth with the game? eg, file
sharing progs, download utils, and maybe it'd be an idea to triple-check
for spyware + viruses. (Remember that things uploading will kill your
connection just as much as downloading)
If you've done that and you're sure its only HL2 using your b/width,
chances are there's not alot you can do about it, except complain to
your ISP.

Yeah, " obscenely high packetloss and/or corrupt packets" sounds about
right.
No, I don't think I have anything sharing the bandwith. But I'll check for
spyware/Viruses.
Thanks a lot for the info and tips Ben : )

Mmm, since I don't see my yesterday reply here I'll resend it now....
