Does anyone know anything (or have used) about Movie Edit Silver?
I came across this program in a magazine but it does not say much
about it.
Is it easy, powerful, freeware?
Is it simular to Video Studio 8 and other low end video editors?

It's awesome Brian... I bought it about 5 weeks ago, it's incredible the
many options it has, it includes applications you only find in Adobe Premier
Pro. Unfortunately I've only "played with it" for short intervals as I've
been very busy at work these days. Six weeks ago I posted a message here
asking for feedback but nobody answered... In Timeline mode it has 16 stereo
tracks for editing audio & video, motion stabilizer, 170 transitions, 50
animated credit rolls, 45 dubbing effects & plenty more. Excellent video
tutorials. After I opened the box to install it, spent about half hour
checking for the serial number, strangely enough no serial number was needed
to install & when I registered, again no need for serial number. Why? have
no idea. The "manual" is a small booklet 11.5 cm x 17 cm & 30 pages long &
it brings two CDs. If you need more information, let me know... sorry I
can't tell you about my experiences with it because so far I have not "taken
it out for a run". Price in US$99. I bought for less on a very special
offer.

Thanks Buchetamo.
You must have the Pro version of Movie Edit as they had given away
their older Movie Edit Silver 2004 on a disk that came with the PC
Format magazine.
I'd say the reason for no serial number is because there are no trail
versions of this program, so the only way to get it is to buy it.
Later when you've had time to try this software please let me know
what you think of it. My e-mail address is bclark@es.co.nz

Yes, Brian, I do have the Pro version. Thanks for your comment on the lack
of serial number. I was a bit concerned thinking "this software looks to
good to be true", the lack of serial number made me think I had bought a
pirate copy. I bought it at Ebay & it came from England the price was 34
pounds plus P & H, from a very reliable source, they only deal with original
& brand new ware not OEM or even academic!!
Whenever I use it I'll let you know... but I must warn you, I'm no expert by
a looooooooong shot. I've developed this "movie authoring software
collecting syndrome" which has propelled me into buying: Pinnacle Studio 9,
Adobe Premier Pro 7, Adobe After Effects 6, Adobe Encore DVD 1, Ulead Video
8, Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2, My DVD Sonic, Magix Pro , of course Windows
Movie Maker... & I must confess that yesterday I bought at an auction at
Ebay, Ulead Workshop 2 !! But, I insist, I'm no expert & my favorite is
Pinnacle Studio 9. I'd love to be able to work Adobe Premiere but... it's so
complicated!! Regards, Buchetamo
