Oh, that's right!
It'll give me separated image files, right? Or is there an option for it to
make a movie file instead?
Even if these were only individual files I could always import them into
Windows Movie Maker.

Thanks Lief : )

Jay

Hey Leaf, I did it and I ended up with a .dem file. Could you post a link to
where I can lear additional commands/switches to be more specific as to what
kind of output to obtain? I am hoping there are some optional command lines
that would allow me to specify to get it to output a movie file instead, or
at least individual JPGs?

thanks,

Jay

Ok, I just noticed it made also some TGA files along. This is good. But it
would still be good to learn those additional commands, if there are any
that is.

No clue Jaye, haven't done much with dem files for a few years now....you
can edit the tga (or whatever) files together to make video / use in video
editing apps and stuff....

Being so long since I did anything with demos, I aint really the best person
to ask ;p

What's wrong with fraps? dem files only contain gameplay and not any
graphical information, so you WILL need something like fraps if you
want to watch the action outside of the HL2 engine. BTW have you tried
hitting shift-F2 when playing a demo.....

Well, I appreciate your honesty about it.
I did some recording already 2 days ago, but I noticed the performance of
the gameplay goes down considerably : (
And that was only while moving around in an empty map that I started up.
Imagine if I had tried while playing online!!!
My only hope at this moment is to find an application like Fraps that would
be freeware. Oh well! At least it's nothing of importance really ; )
