The spec sheets on these bad boys are identical.

The NEC is about $200 cheaper which sets off some redflags about quality vs brand equity. These things look like they roll off the end of the same assembly line, does anyone know of a real difference.

What's the skinny on NEC-Mitsubishi corp. Is there any reason to discriminate between the two brands?

How about a Samsung?

I went ahead with the Mitsubishi 2060u. After a revelation and some positive feedback on the Mitsubishi

The vendor with the NEC FP1355 at the low pricepoint turns out to have a nasty reputation with gouging big time on shipping... often to the tune of $200 bucks... haha funny, they should go to jail for pulling [-peep-] like that.

That made the price differential around $50 and the Mitsu was worth an extra fifty to me.

hehe, they [-peep-]-ed me out.

By the way I placed my order with techonweb. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I won't mention that other place, but their rep is posted on pricegrabber.

I also highly recommend http://www.resellerratings.com for the downlow on online retailers. Investigate, you will definately save yourself alot of headache.

My 2060u arrived yesterday. This thing is great!

I have three tiny issues with this monitor. I am very picky. This monitor has been seriously scrutinized, and these issues are trvial to say the least.

1.) The text is not in *sharp* focus in the extreme corners relative to the rest of the screen. I'm talking the last cm of the corner where text is not normally displayed anyway.

2.)The bottom of the screen (the bottom edge of the task bar specifically)seems to have an ever so slight curve that I can't adjust out. I think its actually the bottom two corners lifting up about 1.5-2mm above the center.

These things are not noticeable without considerable inspection.

3.)My refesh rate at 1600X1200 is limited to 85Hz which is the reccomended resolution, but the spec sheet calims 95Hz is the possible at this res. I think it's my vid old 16MB Monster Fusion vidcard card.

I don't have the new machine assembled yet. It will certainly have a more powerful vid card capable of higher refresh rates at high res.

Everything else is absolutely perfect. It was worth every penny, and it looks great too.

It is perfectly on scale with my new Lian-Li PC-70 tower.
