I recently installed a D-Link 802.11G wireless router on my main computer and 802.11b PCI card on my sons computer. I was happy to be up and running with minimal effort. Maybe 11 clicks alltogether.

Now that everything is up and running, I have a few questions.

1. Firmware? What exactly is it and do I need it?
2. WEP/WPA? Should I be concerned? If so, how do I set it up so both computers are still conected?

Those questions are outside the scope of this group. I suggest you post to the D-Link forums over on

....and the MS wireless news group for Windows related issues...

IMHO, WEP/WPA should be used if your systems support it...
