.... after a month or so of procrastinating (or dithering) overclockers.co.uk
had a 'this week only' special of an Asus X800XT PE for £190. Took the
plunge - couldn't really do anything else at that price. I think this will
fill the gap until my system rebuild next year and it should then cause a
small war between my daughters over who it's passed to :-)

RMA'd a 9800Pro with them a year or so ago - no probs whatsoever. Had heard
they had a rep so was prepared for trouble but in my case the rep was
undeserved.

I remember you had a bunch of troubles with OCUK a while back but
they're generally pretty good with their RMAs (especially since they no
longer sell overclocked hardware which is where most of their problems were)

.... I think that they expected all customers to have fried the equipment
through further overclocking and were pretty much suspicious and challenged
every return. That doesn't seem to be the case any more (or at least you
dont hear the horror stories from customers anymore).

The most commmon problem I noticed was that their own in-house testing
of the overclocked CPUs gave them significantly faster speeds than alot
of their customers could get with the same CPUs, and the stability of
the CPUs which did work at the overclocked speeds was questionable too.

Wow

Maybe they've improved. But I doubt it.

I know they're not good. Just 'cos a handful of people *haven't* had
trouble doesn't mean they're not!

Site's like overcockers.co.uk didn't spring up out of feelings of love
and well being!

Well good luck. I'd like to see the opinion shift when OC decide to
ignore you completely as they chose to with me.

Came today... took a longer than average lunch break to fit it and so far
everything is roses. HL2 looks great at 1280x960 with 4AA and 8AF with
everything on highest. More tweaking tomorrow night but so far so great....
