hi all.

on my iPAQ 2210, I have two email accouts as it were, one called active sync
and one called work.

When I'm out on the road I dial into the office server and pick up mail. The
mail headers and first few lines are downloaded into the work folder. Then I
can read it and decide whether I want to download the whole thing (mark for
download) or if a large attachment is included wait until I can download it
via my home pc.

if I select mark for download, I get the whole email and attachments. if I
don't mark for download, the whole email is not copied across until I've
downloaded the mail on my PC and then sync'd, at which point all the emails
are moved into the active sync folder. After a sync the whole email body is
copied to the iPAQ but not the attachment (even though in options in active
sync I've selected include file attachments. if I select mark for download,
the attchments are copied during a sync. However, I dont want to have to
mark each attachment for download, I thought as I had selected include
attachemtns in the active sync options this would be done automatically??

any ideas?

many thanks

Do you have "Include file attachments" selected on your Activesync Inbox Settings? If you do, what is the size limit set at? If the attachments are larger than the limit, they will not download.

Make sure in the Account Email Settings (screen 3 of 3) you have get
full copy of messages selected. This should prevent having to mark
and download in separate runs.

but I don't want to download the whole message when I dial up...sometimes I
have very large attachments and I don't want to spend 4 hours downloading
over a mobile connection. So I just download the header so I can see what
the mail is, then if I want the whole thing I select it for download.

What I'm trying to do is set it up so that the attachments are copied over
when I sync. I have ticked the include attachments box in the active sync
settings and the limit is 200K, but they don't get copied over.

Also, I have a 256MB SD card with about 80 MB free, however on the iPAQ
there is an option to store attachments on the storage card but it only
shows 4MB free.

What happens when you specify no limits to attachment size? Just to
rule out this as the cause?
