I have a DSL Router (cabled) that provides unfire walled access to the
internet for several computers (they each have firewalls). I would like to
stick a wireless lan card into one of the PC's (a PCI card) so that I can use
my hx4700 PDA to access the internet "through" one of the PC's firewalls.
How can I set up the PC to act as a wireless access point? I can sort of
make it work if i set it up as an ad-hoc netowrk but I have to manually set
the ip addresses.
Can I make the PC allocate the ip address (and DNS) to the PDA like a proper
access point?
Cheers,
B

Here are a couple of ad-hoc guides for that may help...One talks about using a DHCP assigned IP
address on the PocketPC...

Having never used ad-hoc (I use a Buffalo WBR-G54 4-port broadband router/wireless access point) the
best advice I can give is to purchase a suitable wireless access point or a combination broadband
router/wireless access point. One advantage would be WPA encryption versus WEP, which is easily
cracked.
