Advice for xmas notebook

I have narrowed my decision to two HP's, both are $999. All other things being equal, which would have better performance for graphics work (photoshop) and occasional DVD viewing? (3D gaming is not an issue) Thanks

my advice would be to check about trident graphics you might fine it is just a chipset which will only give you software rendering have you looked at compaq's?
