5gb of internet usage

Hello,
We have 5gb of internet for 1 month. How much time does that equal out too?
We have a lot of things that use the internet. 3 ipods are always connected to it, 2 laptops, and 2 wiis. Is this plan big enough for us? They don't offer much way up north, so this was like the best we could get. Do you think we will go over? We are worried! P.S. We have netflix on both wiis and we are always watching a movie(which needs the internet) So yeah. hahaha

You are right to be worried. If you watch HD movie streamed from NetFlix data usage might be as high as 1GB per hour. NetFlix is sure to send you data usage up over 5GB and perhaps quite a lot higher.
Most ISP's have a way to check your internet data usage and you can usually request the ISP send you an email when you're approaching your plan limit.
  2. Here is a NetFlix blog where they talk about data usage
    http://blog.netflix.com/2008/11/encoding-for-streaming.html

For HD 2600kbps or 3800kbps which works out to: 1.09 or 1.593 gigabyte per hour
    For SD 375, 500, 1000, and 1500kbps converts to 0.1572 / 0.2095 / 0.4191 / 0.6286 gigabyte per hour

Remember this is just for NetFlix streaming.
  3. that plan will be used up in no time!
  4. Holy Hell I used 13 gigs last month on my iphone lols. Ya a plan with less than 20 gigs is going to be an issue for you (No unlimited?) Think about it at 20 that is really only about 20 (Less really) movies. Less than one a day.
