1)Will remote desktop work with a ad-hoc wireless netowork
between a pc and a laptop each running windows xp
profesional and because its only sends minimal data will it
work with an 11mbps set up.

2)Also I see that it will route audio to the remote
computer, is this feature able to be turned off? because i
want to be able to use remote desktop to play music on the
pc being accessed not the laptop being used.

RD will work fine over an 802.11b link. I use it from an iPAQ 5555 PocketPC to control an XP Pro box
on my home LAN via 802.11b...

If you configure the RD connectoid to *NOT* redirect audio then you can do that... Open the RD
connectoid and go to "Options -> Local Resources -> Remote computer sound" and configure as
desired...
